  5. If I agree to an intervention in my company, would you still be willing to work with my competitors as well?

CBSL’s goal is to assist all small and medium sized manufacturers in Trinidad and Tobago. We will allow competitors to use the same consultants if so desired because every manufacturer is entitled to equal access to the best consultants available. All consultants are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and to date we have a list of satisfied clients who have never had a problem with leakage of information.

CBSL cannot deny any bonafide request for assistance as essentially funding is provided by taxpayers. Because of the limitation in the availability of consultants in some specialized areas it is possible that the same consultant may be used for competing companies.

  6. How long does an intervention normally take?

Each intervention is different and the length of an intervention depends on the scope of the problem and the size of the operation. Interventions may range from five days to several months.

  9. How or where do you find consultants?

We have access to a pool of local and international specialist consultants who have years of experience in their fields. The consultants are sourced by ourselves or with the assistance from the Centre for the Development of Enterprise in Belgium.

  10. How much does an intervention cost?

CBSL accesses consultants at preferential rates that are normally below market. The cost of an intervention is based on the level of expertise required, the duration and out of pocket expenses incurred if the consultant is based overseas. Actual costs would range from TT$1,200 and TT$3,500 per day plus out of pocket expenses before applying our grant contribution.
